The Odyssey star Tom Holland has been acting since he was a child – he landed a part in Billy Elliot the Musical aged just 12
Since then, he’s played a range of characters from a cabin boy in In The Heart Of The Sea to Gregory in Wolf Hall (alongside his recurring Spider-Man gigs).
In all, IMDb lists 42 roles under the actor’s name. So perhaps it shouldn’t shock us to learn that he isn’t equally proud of all of his titles, as he recently told hosts Angela Hartnett and Nick Grimshaw on the Waitrose podcast Dish
On the July 22 episode, co-host Nick asked Tom – who has been tasked with promoting both The Odyssey and his upcoming Spider-Man: A Brand New Day flick this summer – how he’s dealing with “flying around the world [and] doing interviews”

Tom replied, “To be honest, I’m absolutely loving it. When you’re doing press for movies you’re really proud of, it’s really easy. Because when they ask you questions about, ‘Why should people go and watch this movie?’, you’re not lying to anyone. You really feel like people should go see it.”
The star added, “I’ve had experiences before when people say, ‘Why should you see this movie?’ And in the back of your mind, you’re like, ‘You shouldn’t, because it’s ****.'”
He added that the press cycles for the two huge movies he stars in this summer has felt like a “victory lap… I’ve really enjoyed it. I’m super proud of both of the films.”
Apparently, one of his The Odyssey co-stars made the promotional side of his job even easier.

“I’ve had the pleasure of sitting down with Anne Hathaway for the last three days and doing press with her,” he added later in the episode
“For me, that’s been an awesome learning experience. She’s such a pro.”
