<p>LOS ANGELES — Seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson added another historic milestone to his legendary career Friday, becoming the first motorsports competitor to receive a star in the sports entertainment category on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.</p>

<p>The honor places Johnson among some of the most recognizable names in American sports and entertainment, recognizing not only his accomplishments behind the wheel but also his impact as a broadcaster, entrepreneur, philanthropist and team owner.</p>

<p>Johnson’s racing résumé ranks among the greatest in motorsports history. The El Cajon, California, native captured seven NASCAR Cup Series championships, including a record five consecutive titles from 2006-10, and amassed 83 career Cup Series victories. He remains the only motorsports athlete to be named The Associated Press Male Athlete of the Year.</p>
