Tori Spelling’s latest family selfie has ruffled a few feathers
The “90210″ alum shared a photo on Monday of her seemingly out to dinner with three of her five kids: Liam, 19, and Beau, 9, and daughter Hattie, 14
She captioned the post: “I choose peace. I choose joy. I choose my life. xo.”
But there was one small detail that some users couldn’t quite wrap their head around. In the photo, Liam’s head was turned in the opposite direction as he was in the middle of kissing his girlfriend
While many commenters gushed over Spelling’s cute family portrait, others gawked over the fact that a mother would post a photo of her son smooching his girlfriend at the dinner table
Comments included: “Disturbing picture.”
“Regardless of gender or sexuality a mum sharing a picture of their child making out is just weird,” wrote another
A third person said: “Odd to post a pic of your son making out while you are out to dinner,” said another
“One comment just read,” disgusting.”
However, others left comments unrelated to Liam’s smooch action
“Beautiful family,” said one person
“I can’t believe Liam is so grown! I watched your show when he was born!,” wrote another
Spelling responded to that comment, confirming that two of her kids were in relationship. “Yessss! Our Monkey has the most beautiful girlfriend inside and out. She’s amazing and we are all so happy. And, Buggy ( Stella) has an incredible boyfriend we all adore! Wish Stella and Finn were in the picture but they were hanging at home with friends.”
Liam’s was born during “Tori & Dean: Inn Love,” a reality series that premiered in 2007″ and ran for four seasons until 2010. The show followed Spelling and her now ex-husband, Dean McDermott, as the family escaped Los Angeles to operate a bed & breakfast using Spelling’s $800,000 inheritance. However, the show was later rebranded to “Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood,” as they made their epic return to Tinsel Town
Meanwhile, Spelling and McDermott split in 2023 after 17 years of marriage and finalized their divorce last year
Spelling’s family photo comes months after she was hospitalized with four of her children after car crash
In April, Spelling’s vehicle, which contained three of her kids’ friends, was allegedly hit by another car that was said to be speeding and ran a red light, per TMZ. Fortunately, Spelling managed to avoid serious injury by maneuvering her vehicle largely out of the way just before impact. However, she and all seven children were taken to the hospital to treat injuries including cuts, contusions and concussions
Spelling, best known for playing Donna Martin on the ‘90s TV series “Beverly Hills, 90210,” has also appeared in movies and TV shows like “Troop Beverly Hills,” “The Masked Singer,” “Scream 2,” “The Mistle-Tones,” “Smallville,“ ”A Friend to Die For,“ and of course, her reality TV series
