The theft was initially reported at around 6:27 a.m. Thursday when someone called police about a man trying to steal a Porsche, the Los Angeles Police Department told NBCLA

When officers arrived at the location, they noticed the gray Porsche hooked up to a black pickup truck. When the suspected thief refused to follow the officers’ orders and surrender, a pursuit began along Tujunga Avenue at around 7:05
As the truck driver ran away from police at a high speed, the Porsche was uncontrollably dragged through the street as its front end was being scraped along the curbside
The tow bar between the pickup and the stolen vehicle appeared to have broken off, with the Porsche coming to a stall in front of a carwash. Cellphone video showed its hood and front dumper were heavily damaged
Even after losing the stolen car, the suspected thief kept driving. After 10 minutes later, the chase eventually came to an end near Sherman Way and Canal Loop, according to the LAPD
The suspect was taken into custody for felony evading
