New campus impacts submission site now available

A new Campus Impacts Submission Site is now available to help inform the campus community about construction activities, closures, and other events that may affect travel around campus. The new site provides a simpler, more user-friendly experience
When to Submit a Request
General impacts:Any planned campus impacts must be submitted at least three weeks prior to the proposed impact date
Road closures: Additionally, road closures must include variable message signs to be installed two weeks prior to the closure
Special events: Traffic disruptions during major campus events (such as move-in, move-out, commencement, and football games) are generally not permitted unless all other alternatives have been exhausted
Parking impacts: Any impacts to parking must be coordinated with Parking Services parking@vt.edu 540-231-3200
How to Access and Use the Site
TheCampus Impacts Submission site allows users to log in and submit details regarding their proposed closure or disruption
To submit a request:
Click this link: https://impacts.facilities.vt.edu/
At the site, click the “Submit a Request” at the top and log in with your VT PID
Enter contact information for the primary and secondary point of contact
Provide details, including a description, date, and time of the impact
Submit a sketch identifying the impacted area, detour routes, and all planned wayfinding/warning signage
Sketch Color Conventions:
Red: Construction or closure areas (areas the public should avoid)
Blue: ADA-accessible pathways and detours
Green: Non-ADA pathways and detours (including standard routes for pedestrians, vehicles, and bicycles)
Once the form is complete, click Submit Request for administration review and email confirmation
View Current Impacts
Campus Closures Map allows viewing of all current and upcoming impacts across campus
