Nordstrom Inc. has selected Brooke Bobb, a fashion journalist and editor, as its next vice president and fashion director, WWD has learned
Bobb will cover all fashion categories and report to Jamie , chief merchandising officer
“In this role, Bobb will champion Nordstrom’s fashion direction, bringing a sharp editorial vision to inspire customers and reinforce Nordstrom’s position as one of the world’s leading fashion retailers,” the Seattle-based retailer indicated in a statement. Among her responsibilities, Bobb will work “across the organization to set seasonal fashion direction, bringing product inspiration to life across stores, online, and in marketing. Bobb will work alongside merchant leaders, partnering with brands, attending global fashion weeks, supporting key industry moments, and customer events. She will also serve as a fashion and trend media spokesperson on behalf of the company,” the retailer said. “Brooke has a strong combination of editorial credibility and commercial instinct,” Jamie Nordstrom said in a statement. “She understands how people discover and engage with style today, and how to translate that into something meaningful for our business. We believe her vision will elevate how we show up for our customers, our brand partners, and our teams.”
Nordstrom, which this year celebrates its 125th birthday, has been seeking to strengthen the luxury side of its business and conduct more business with emerging designers. In an interview last February, Jamie Nordstrom told WWD, “We have a big luxury business, but it could be bigger. We can play a role, and we’re open to how we might be able to do that.”
